And the only one I have ever seen.

Looks pretty seamless. I don’t think many people that add winches keep the stock bumper.

That Jeep was often asked to do more than it was designed for, and it often did. Not going to shit on this.

That's actually really cool

That’s the thing, this one came from the factory like this. This isn’t aftermarket. I first found out about them in the back of my owners manual of my 85 XJ. And the older stock tow hook brackets have an extra set of holes to accommodate for this by pushing the bumper forward.

The Jeep XJ Cherokee altogether or the one in the photo?

All of them. Buddy of mine towed our sailboat (I since cashed out) with a Cherokee when we should have rented an Expedition. But that little Jeep did it.

Very cool actually...what brand was the winch? Warn?

Very stealthy. Took me a minute to figure out what was so special about it.

That’s pretty cool! I’ve never heard of that. I’m surprised it wasn't more popular.

Truth. When a buddy’s jeep trans quit on our way home from Moab, UT I flat towed his from Tucumcari, NM to Tulsa, OK where another buddy brought his truck and towed the rest of the way to STL because Ozarks. Most likely over the tow ratings, but since flat towing & taking it easy.

What do I win?

It’s not quite the same.
Win .25 internets in 2016 rates, which may be nothing 3 years later.
(I just noticed this comment)

Nope, but it IS my (old) XJ with a winch and a stock bumper!
Here’s the same setup on my “new” XJ... and by “new” I mean I’ve had it for 9 years.
